La Salette, more formally known as National Shrine of Our Lady Of La Salette is a Catholic community that offers masses and ministries to the surrounding community. The shrine of La Salette has been operating since 1952 in North Attelboro, Massachusetts which lies just about an hour south of Boston.
La Salette also puts on an annual Christmas Festival of Lights which is free and open to the public. The event runs from the end of November through the first week of January yearly. The displays run across 10 acres of property so bring your warm jackets and walking shoes. It’s best to get there as close to opening time as possible because this light show is listed as one of the best in the US. The parking is free but limited. So try and arrive as close to 5pm as you can. Hours are 5-9pm daily.
There are plenty of walkways which will accomodate strollers, wagons, scooters and wheelchairs. You’ll find the most magical lights everywhere you look and animated creche scenes.
There’s a food court and s’mores available to purchase for roasting. You can walk through a creche museum, light a candle for a loved one and cross over the sanctuary to the second side of lights.
Around the back you’ll find a small carnival full of rides and fried dough.
