Disney World, Florida

Wilderness Lodge Resort is a deluxe resort located at Walt Disney World in Florida. Wilderness evokes the feel of mid century National Parks lodges and immerses you in full Disney theming. From the moment you enter the Wilderness Lodge grounds you’re whisked away to the relaxing national parks with springs, log cabins, geysers and lush forested grounds all while being just a five minute bus ride away from Magic Kingdom.

Wilderness Lodge is a fan favorite and my own personal favorite resort. It’s our families “home” resort as we call it. We love staying at all the resorts but always feel like we should be staying at Wilderness Lodge!

The building itself is a nod to the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park.

You’ll enter the lobby and immediately see an amazing fireplace, teepee lights and log cabin/craftsman design everywhere you look. You can even cross over the spring on a wooden bridge. The resort hosts standard, nature view, courtyard view, fireworks views, villas and copper canyon cabins.

You’ll find three seperate pool areas. The main pool, boulder ridge pool, and splashpad areas.

The Boulder Ridge Pool also has cabanas free of charge.

The rooms are updated with a contemporary national parks feel.

Wilderness Lodge also hosts Disney’s Vacation Club (DVC) so they offer villa and cabin options.

Transportation options include buses located at the front of the resort and ferries to Magic Kingdom in the back of the resort.

Dining options include quick serve and sit down options such as Whispering Canyon Cafe, Storybook Dining, Geyser Point Bar and Grill, Roaring Fork and Territory Lounge.

Bike and boat rentals are available and can be booked at the concierge desk in the lobby. Fishing, jogging trails, movies under the stars, an arcade and viewing the water pageant are all ways to have fun at the resort while taking a break from the parks. There’s also a geyser that erupts every hour.

Shopping is available in the lobby at the mercantile and since Wilderness Lodge is also a DVC resort you’ll find breakfast, ice cream and microwave items.

If you’re lucky enough to visit during the holidays you’ll be able to see this beauty in the lobby.

Wilderness Lodge is a great option if you like a smaller resort, want to be close to Magic Kingdom (5 minute bus ride) and also stay at a Deluxe resort for a more affordable price.
