Anaheim, California

The Grand Californian is nestled in the heart of Disneyland with craftsman architecture, attention to detail at every turn, impeccable Disney service an on site spa and it’s very own entrance to California Adventure. It’s my number one choice and personal recommendation as a travel advisor for staying onsite when visiting Disneyland and one step inside and you can see why.

The resort mirrors it’s sister resort the Wilderness Lodge at Disney World in Florida and was designed by the same architects so if you’ve stayed ay Wilderness Lodge and you’re a fan, as I am you’ll see some familiarity.

Check in can be done in person or through the My Disney app.

Upon check in you’ll be able to use a digital key through your My Disney Experience app or you can get a plastic key card at the front desk. I recommend using both since it’s convenient to show your plastic key card at the park gates to get in for early entry. You might also want to ask for map because the hotel is large.

You will also receive this handy dandy informational sheet.

Let’s take a look at a Grand Californian room!

The rooms show nods to Walt and California with oranges throughout. Poppy flowers are also placed throughout the lobbies and walkways which is a nod to California.

You’ll be welcomed in traditional Disney resort style and your television will host park information.

Every room has a coffee maker and a mini fridge…

Wardrobes comes with safes, robes, slippers, extra pillows and blankets and a steamer.

Bathrooms with deluxe amenities including toothbrush kits. At night you’ll receive turn down service as well.

Full tiled showers with rainfall shower heads. Some rooms also come with tubs. If that is a necessity make sure you have your travel agent (ME) make a request at the time of booking. As always requests are not guaranteed but Disney is good about making those happen. Requests for pack and plays and bed rails can also be made at the time of booking.

The lobby hosts an amazing fireplace with rocking chairs for guest to sit and relax.

Plus and adorable mini lounge area for the littles….

There are several on site dining locations at Grand Californian for guests to enjoy as well. There’s Storyteller’s CafĂ©. Where you can see these guys….

Napa Rose which also hosts the Princess Breakfast-a 3 hour fairytale Princess event.

Hearthstone Lounge-a rustic lounge that hosts cocktails, snacks and continental breakfast.

The Craftsman Grill is available for quick serve and the resort also hosts in room dining with menus options available inside your room. You’re also just a short walk from Downtown Disney with so many restaurant and quick serve options right at your finger tips.

The best part about staying at the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa is the walkability factor to the parks! Not only does it have it’s very own entrance to California Adventure and Downtown Disney but you can simply walk back and forth to Disneyland and it’s the closest of all three on site hotels.

There’s also a rooftop viewing area on the 6th floor for resort guests only. It’s heated and has an amazing view of California Adventure perfect for seeing the World of Color.

The resort also offers three pools with cabanas you can reserve, fitness center and a full scale spa so you can have a full resort day pampering yourself.

There are also weekly activities!

It’s easy to see why the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa is my number one recommendation for guests wanting to stay on property at Disneyland!
