Looking to dine with Mickey, Goofy, Daisy and Donald all in their safari gear while having some of your favorite foods and trying some with some African flare then look no further than Tusker House Restaurant in Animal Kingdom Park at Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
Tusker House is a character dining location open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is served buffet style. It’s located in the African section of Animal Kingdom Park.
Once you arrive at the location you can check in on your My Disney app or at the check in desk and once you receive an notification through your app you’ll then proceed to the official check in courtyard.
You’ll go into the courtyard and wait to be formally seated.
The restaurant itself has several different seating areas. The characters make their rounds to each seating area so don’t worry they keep track of where they have been!. The restaurant has an authentic African theme throughout with the buffet in the main room.
The buffet has breads…including the famous zebra bread….
cold meats and fruits…
salads…
dressings…
even more salads…
veggies and drumsticks…
potatoes and your kids favorites…
African fare…
More African fare-including veggies…
and then desserts….
But the best part of Tusker House is of course the characters! Tusker House was probably THE BEST character interaction we have had at any character meal! They spent the most time with us and had unique interactions with each table!

Tusker House takes advanced dining reservations at 60 days before your booking date so let your travel advisor (me) know if you’d like to add this location to your reservations. It’s recommended to make reservations since character dining is very popular but you can sometimes get walk up reservations by monitoring your My Disney app. Tusker House does accept the Disney Dining plan and this location is one dining credit.
