Disney offers a variety of backstage tours for guests to see just what goes on behind the scenes at Disney. The Keys to the Kingdom Tour gives guests the opportunity to explore the hidden history of the Magic Kingdom park and access the hidden behind the scenes areas too!
The tour meet at the Town Square Theater at the Magic Kingdom Park and park admission is required in addition to your tour reservation. Reservations for the tour costs $114 per person plus tax is this tour is only open to adults age 16 and up and must have a valid ID. Reservations can be made by your travel advisor (me) 60 days in advance to your travel window and are timed. Tours start promptly and you must be on time or they will leave without you and you will not be refunded!
You will arrived 30 minutes early and check in with the plaid cast members at the check in desk which is clearly marked. You then receive your name tag pin and audio guide which you’ll wear throughout your tour. This allows your VIP tour guide to speak to you throughout the tour.
Then you’ll be asked to put your lunch order in. The tour is roughly 5 hours long and includes a stop at a quick service restaurant. Ours was Pecos Bill-the cost of which is included in the tour price. They will have you preorder at the beginning of your tour and when you get to the restaurant your order will be waiting for you.
The tour includes opportunities to….
- Uncover the hidden secrets of classic attractions at Magic Kingdom park.
- Access the famed underground “Utilidor” tunnels that allow people and supplies to travel beneath the park unseen.
- Discover little-known facts, trivia and other exciting tidbits about the park.
- Enjoy a delicious lunch—included with your tour.
- Take home an exclusive keepsake!
But it does not allows you to take pictures-so sad! It’s the perfect tour for adults who have visited Disney World several times. Once your tour time arrives and everyone is checked in you will gather and start with about 20 of your new best friends.
Things to remember about this tour-
*it’s an outdoor tour so dress accordingly!
*you must have a valid ID to check in so bring one with you.
*If you do not cancel 2 days before your tour you will not be refunded. You must check in a minimum of 15 minutes before your tour or you will not be allowed on your tour and you will be charged.
*Annual Pass Holders and Disney Vacation Members (DVC) qualify for 15% off so mention that to your travel advisor before booking!
