Disneyland, California
Want to see Disney’s California Adventure’s nighttime show World of Color but you’re tied and don’t want to get wet? Then the World of Color Dessert Party is the perfect option for you!
World of Color is California Adventure’s nighttime spectacular. The show can be seen from the lagoon in front of the Ferris wheel at multiple locations. The viewing area is standing room only and after a full day of walking it can be rough. There’s also an option for Lightning Lane special viewing, but bring your poncho. You’ll be up close and personal with the off spray from the water effects.
The World of Color Dessert Party solves all of that, with seating, snacks, drinks and a reserved seating area perfect for viewing.

The World of Color dessert party can be booked 60 days in advance of your travel date. You can book your reservation through the Disneyland website or simply let your Travel Advisor (ME!) know you’re interested. The cost is $89 per person, adults and children. Children under the age of 2 are free but will need to lap sit for the show. Reservations are recommended because the dessert party does sell out. There are 1 or 2 dessert parties per evening based on how many World of Color shows are scheduled the night you’re attending. I recommend the later showing for more park time and darker evening for the best lights. Once you book the dessert party it will show up in your My Disney account as an event.

Once your reservations are made you’ll see them added to your Disneyland app. When you arrive you’ll look for the Eureka water wheel located near the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Guests line up an hour before showtime so don’t be alarmed when you see a line.

Once you arrive you will check in with the Cast Member at the podium. It’s a good idea to have your entire party with you because you will be assigned to a table at check in. High Tables are the best for viewing but don’t worry if you get a low table those are still fine. High Tables run out first so plan accordingly if your heart is set on one.

Once you check in not only will you get your table number but also your wristband.

Once it gets close to your show time Cast Members will walk you from the holding area up to the viewing area by the lagoon. They will double check your bracelets and table assignment and you’ll be escorted to your table.

Tables typically fit 4 so depending on your party size you may be sat with another group. You’ll then be greeted by the Cast Member helping you out for the show. Guests will be served a platter of sweet and savory treats (1 per guest) and your drink order will be taken. You can have unlimited sodas, bottled water, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Oh and the hot chocolate is amazing! You can also get 2 alcoholic beverages with an ID.

The show starts approximately 60 minutes after your reservation time so you’ll have plenty of time to get seating and have snacks before and during the show. Let your Travel Advisor know of any dietary needs since those will be noted at the time of booking. They’ll even give you a box to take snacks that you didn’t finish home with you.
