Amboise, France

Within the city of Amboise lies the adorable boutique hotel of Le Clos d’Amboise…..you’ll be welcomed into the 17th century home that has been converted into a hotel in the heart of the city within walking distant of the city center and market districts which is simply perfect for any guests of all ages.

The main building hosts the majority of the rooms as well as a small reception /check in and a gift shop.

Our room was a family suite which was located in the adjacent building or converted stable house which housed 3 rooms. Two rooms upstairs and one downstairs. Our room was one of the biggest we had while staying in France with two nice oversized beds pushed together and a sofa bed converted for our daughter but still plenty of room for our luggage and to walk around.

There was also plenty of seating which was nice. This was something that was not easily available while traveling in France.

The original exposed beams were amazing….

Our bathroom was actually split into two rooms one with the sink and shower and one with the toilet which was also really convenient. The hotel also provided shower robes and flip flops for the pool.

There is also a lovely courtyard that leads to the restaurant and pool for guests to sit and relax.

The hotel restaurant serves both breakfast and dinner and requires a reservation. The dinner is fine dining and you can sit and have five or seven courses. Dinner might not be a great fit for picky eaters but is fun for your adventure seekers. Children can be brought ice cream if they are picky!

The hotel is also within walking distance of the city center and adorable markets and the staff went out of their way to help us with directions, advice and with service.

The courtyard of the hotel sits under a popular hot air balloon area so we often saw balloons fly over every night!

Le Clois d”Amboise is a perfect hotel as a home base for the Loire Valley located in an enchanting town in the center of everything within walking distance of a wide variety of shops and restaurants with lovely staff and plenty of room. The hotel was welcoming, up to date, had parking and air conditioning and was just lovely to stay inside of this unique hotel experience.
