CallieMeeting characters has always been a highlight of any Disney vacation and a Disney cruise is no exception. Disney Cruise Line (DCL) hosts all your favorite characters often in special cruise attire!
You can start off your cruise by seeing all the Disney characters at a Sail-A-Wave party as your cruise sets sail. The party takes place on the deck by the pools or inside in the case of rain.
Characters are also available to meet throughout each day around the ship including the atrium. Check your daily navigator in your Disney Cruise Line app for select times and locations. You can also favorite characters in the app you’d like to meet and you’ll receive a reminder about 10 minutes before the meet and greet starts.
Don’t forget your autograph book. You can also purchase special DCL autograph books on the ship-yes of course we got one!
They of course brought out special pirate costumes for pirate night.
Some meet and greets require a reservation. There is no additional cost but a reservation is required and can be set up ahead of time by your travel agent. Those include the Princess Gathering and also Anna and Elsa from Frozen which are two separate events and not to be missed. Additional special meet and greet vary based on what ship you’re on.
You can also meet characters during your day at Castaway Cay-check your navigator! Oh and did I mention DCL also has special cruises such as Marvel Day at Sea and Star Wars where you can exclusively meet those characters as well? Characters are also known to pop by the kids club to play and interact with the children. The royal court tea is also a reserved (additional fee) tea in which you can tea with princesses-ask your travel agent for details.
Lines are typically short and move fast which I love because you get to meet your favorites and still have that relaxing not rushed cruise feeling-plus all the nautical wear is well adorable!!! Pictures will be taken by Cast Members for purchase later or feel free to take your own.
