Disneyworld, Florida
Disney’s Beach Club Resort is deluxe resort located within walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Beach Club is inspired by Cape Cod and New England and you’ll find touches and theming throughout in typical Disney fashion.
Beach Club is the sister resort to Yacht Club Resort and they’re located right next to each other. They share many special amenities too.
Beach Club is a Disney Vacation Club Resort and is open for booking from DVC members AND regular guests as well. Since Beach Club is part of the DVC Family you’ll find a variety of rooms from King Bed, 2 Queen Beds, to 1 and 2 Bedroom Villas too. Let’s take a look at a King Bedroom option.
The King Bedroom option has a single King Bed and a Queen sized pull out couch option.
There’s plenty of room with the couch bed closed up giving the room a much bigger feel.
There is still plenty of room once the foldout bed has been opened.
This room option also came with a kitchenette and extra storage with a coffee bar.
The dresser was small since the middle section houses the small fridge and the drawers were not traditional drawers like a dresser so you’ll definitely need the extra storage under the kitchenette.
A double sink bathroom…. non King Bedrooms will have these just outside the shower room.
Shower and tub…
Beach Club rooms may have a full balcony or Juliette balcony too.
View of the Lagoon from a Resort View room.
Beach Club is Donald Duck’s resort so you’ll see little touches of him throughout.
There are a variety of amenities throughout the resort such a volleyball courts.
During the holiday season you’ll find a gingerbread carousel that actually spins. The theme is changed yearly. Yes. it’s real gingerbread.
Pop Up bakeries and hot chocolate spots are also available in the lobby during the holiday season.
I grabbed some gingerbread macrons!
Unique to this resort if the Flounder hide and seek. You can get your button at the front desk and look for Flounder as he moves everyday. Once you find him take a picture and go to the front desk to collect your sticker.
You can also find pin trading at the front desk.
Guests at Beach and Yacht Club Resorts have access to the best pool on property Stormalong Bay. This exclusive pool area is only available to guests staying at these two properties and in order to gain access you need to show proof of your reservation on your My Disney App. You will then receive a bracelet good for your stay.
Stormalong Bay has a sand bottom pool, regular pool, lazy river and pirate ship waterslide.
You can also rent cabanas at Stormalong Bay. If you have a cabana reservation you’ll check in at the regular pool entrance and be asked to walk down a cabana walkway to get an additional cabana bracelet. Cabanas can be booked 60 days before your trip and go fast so ask you travel advisor (ME!) if this is on your wishlist.
The cabanas are located just off the pools but one sits right on the sand and sand entry area.
The cabanas have plenty of seating.
You’ll also have towels, drinks, snacks and loungers included. The cabanas also come with concierge service so you can order lunch and have it delivered for an additional charge.
The Solarium is right off the main lobby and has plenty of quiet seating and a small place for children.
Dining options at Beach Club Resort include Character dining at Cape May Cafe a buffet style dining option for breakfast and dinner with characters during breakfast only.
The characters are in their beach attire!
Martha’s Vineyard Lounge-lunch, bar service and a great place to watch sports.
Beaches and Cream Soda Shop-a typical diner with American food and fun sundaes.
Home to the famous Kitchen Sink Sundae!
Beach Club Marketplace has grab and go items and there’s also Hurricane Hannah for poolside food.
Transportation includes buses to Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Disney Springs. Epcot is within walking distance and will take you less than five minutes or you can take the water taxi to Epcot, Boardwalk Inn and Hollywood Studios. Since Epcot is so close to Beach Club you can also easily hop on the Skyliner to get to Hollywood Studios.
Pros of this resort-
Epcot-the walkability to Epcot is amazing so you can easily pop in and out and see the fireworks at night from the beach.
Transportation-Beach Club essentially has three modes of transportation-buses, water taxi and Skyliner.
Gingerbread-Beach Club is part of the holiday Gingerbread magic which is fun but can also make the lobby busier at holiday times.
Cons of this resort-
Quick Serve-Beach Club Marketplace is a shop and a “quick serve” dining option. You can fill up your resort mug here and grab snacks but it is a far cry from typical resorts “quick serve” restaurants and only offers a couple of options for each meal time. Lunch and dinner is the same and not all options are listed on the My Disney app which makes mobile ordering difficult. I would not count on eating anything other than breakfast here and that menu is also limited. There is no seating inside and you must go outside the resort or to the solarium to find seating.
Transportation-Buses are shared between Beach and Yacht club and buses stop at Yacht Club first resulting in buses to the park being standing room only and more people being at the bus lines for resort return. The majority of other deluxe resorts have their own bus and don’t share.
If you love Epcot and the charm of New England you should add Beach Club Resort to your list, not to mentioned the absolute best pool on property!
