Disney World, Florida

All Star Movies Resort is a value resort on site or as we call it “on property” at Walt Disney World in Orlando and it’s a great option for staying in the Disney bubble while still staying in your budget! All Star Movies Resort is located within the Animal Kingdom area of Disney World.

Movies Resort is broken down into 5 distinct sections-101 Dalmatians, The Mighty Ducks, Fantasia, Love Bug and Toy Story. The hotel rooms are centered around the main lobby (Cinema Hall) and eating area and each area has a variety of family areas including play areas and pools.

Preferred rooms will be closer to the main Cinema Hall and buses and will be located in the Fantasia, Toy Story or 101 Dalmatians sections.

The check in area, known as Cinema Hall is themed with a red carpet-and cast members are happy to clap as you walk on in. You’ll be greeted with star studded decorations at check in and a seating area with shows for the little ones should you need to wait.

You’ll also find shopping….

the main food court…..

you can also find caricature drawings for a fee throughout the day…

an arcade….

and transportation buses to the parks right outside Cinema Hall.

Let’s take a look at a standard room! A Standard room comes with 2 queen beds and sleeps 4 people. One standard queen bed and one murphy queen bed. You can also request a 1 King Bedroom.

View of the second bed when stored during the day and in use as a table.

The second bed when pulled down, comes with lighting….

Standard coffee maker and chilling fridge….

A television, dresser for storage, extra blanket, and safe…

Bathroom with a single sink and plenty of storage and a sliding door to easily get ready during the morning while allowing others to still sleep in…

A shower/tub combo with a rainfall showerhead and clothesline for drying swimsuits.

The doors at value and moderate resorts open to the outdoors and have windows that guests often like to decorate so make sure you bring decorations to personalize yours!

The main pool is the Fantasia pool just off of Cinema Hall and there is also a smaller pool off of the Mighty Duck section.

There is also a silver screen bar for alcoholic beverages located right outside the main pool.

When you walk through the Toy Story section you’ll feel like you’re walking into Andy’s room…and find larger than life games.

There is also a small playground close by…oh and also a jogging trail.

They even have an outdoor theater where they show movies-check their daily activities for times.

Pros of this resort-

Budget-you will definitely be saving money while still staying in the Disney bubble. I’m a big fan of staying on property for ease, magic, service and comfort. You’re close to the parks and the service just can’t be beat. It’s easy to take mid day breaks and get all the Disney feels by staying on site.

Theming-the Disney theming at this resort is over the top.

Family Friendly-from pools, to playgrounds, to life sized games, cast members dancing in the mornings, arcades, movies, flash mobs at nights, murphy beds that turn into tables.

Updated-the rooms are up to date and newly renovated.

Early Entry-as will all Disney resorts you’ll gain early park entry by staying on property.

Cons of this resort-

Transportation-the bus system is shared between all 3 all stat resorts-Sports, Music and Movies (and Movies is the last resort in the rotation) so the likelihood of you standing on a bus or not getting on a bus in the morning is high. However with UBER readily available you can easily snag an UBER to the park and take a bus back. Also parking is free for guests and that includes at the parks.

Busy-since it’s a value resort you’re more likely to find groups and more people at these resort because they’re less expensive. Skip the main pool and go for the quieter pool to avoid the crowds and pick off times for dining when you’re at the resort.
