Disneyworld, Florida

The Keys to the Kingdom Tour is one of the many backstage opportunities Disney offers to guests as an Enchanting Extra that your travel agent can book for your trip to make it extra special. The Keys Tour gives guests a peek backstage at the Magic Kingdom park and in the elusive tunnels also know as the “Utilidoors”.

The cost of the tour is $114 per guest plus tax. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members (DVC) do qualify for a 15% discount as well. I recommend an advanced reservation since tours do fill up quickly. You’ll also need a valid park ticket and park pass reservation for the day of your tour.

What to Expect-

This is a 5 hour walking tour so be prepared to walk. Make sure you have good walking shoes and dress in layers since you will be inside and outside. If you have limited mobility and need a scooter or wheelchair your tour guide will make accommodations for you. This tour is only available for guest ages 16 and up and you’ll need to show a valid ID upon check in.

Check in is at Tony’s Town Square roughly 15 minutes before your tour begins. Make sure you’re on time because the tour leaves promptly and you will not be permitted to join once the tour has left so plan your transportation to the park accordingly. I recommend making your tour for the 9:00 timeslot or later because of this. The cast member will check your ID and hand you your tour pack which includes your audio equipment.

You’ll then have the opportunity to preorder your lunch for the tour-ours was at Pecos Bill. This IS included in the cost of the tour. There will be bathroom breaks periodically throughout the trip but it’s a great idea to stop and take a break at Tony’s after check in. You’ll have periodic breaks throughout your walk, ride several rides and even go underground in the tunnels at Magic Kingdom.

No pictures are allowed during the tour to keep the magic well magic. This tour is a must do for any true Disney fan! You’ll learn so much about the history of Disney and how they run the parks. You will also receive a special Keys to the Kingdom pin as a souvenir.
