New York City, New York

Ellis Island holds a special place in the heart of Americans and it’s immigrants. This historic island has welcomed more than 12 million immigrants to their American dream. You can access Ellis Island by purchasing Statue Cruises ferry tickets during your visit.

Ellis Island is part of the Statue of Liberty national monument so make sure you have enough time to visit both. The ferry will stop at the Statue of Liberty first and then Ellis Island which are separate. Once you enter the main building you’ll have a variety of floors and exhibits to view.

You’ll find stories of immigrants from all over the world in their own words.

History of where immigrants came from during the time of Ellis Island and the struggles they faced.

Passports and tickets from all over the world.

The most poignant part for me was the registry room where immigrants waited their turn for a chance at the American dream.

Guided tours are available for an additional fee.
