Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Old Faithful Inn is a historical landmark built from 1903-1904. The Inn is the most requested lodge to stay at inside of Yellowstone National Park and it’s easy to see why. The Inn is about 40 minutes inside the park upon entering the west, most common, entrance.

There she is!

Staying at the Inn was high on my personal bucket list and we were fortunate enough to be able to book one of the old house rooms. The old house rooms were the original rooms built in 1903-1904 and still have original walls and window seats amongst other things. Upon arriving you can drop off your bags at the drive through and park.

We made it!

The lobby is just breathtaking with the original fireplace made entirely out of stones from Yellowstone’s volcanic eruption.

The architecture is something that brings everyone who visits Yellowstone into the Inn and I can’t say I blame them!

The check in area is filled with Park Rangers ready to get you to your room.

The majority of old house rooms do not have a bathroom but rather share bathrooms located in the middle of the hallway. There are a few rooms with a bath/bathroom attached and even fewer rooms with 2 rooms. Most old house rooms contain 2 queen beds in one bedroom. Ours was 2 bedrooms.

We even got real keys!
Room one with a sink and window seat.
Room two with a bathroom attached.
Bathroom with a claw footed tub.

The Inn has bell service, a gift shop, the bear paw deli which has grab and go options and ice cream and the Old Faithful dining room. The Inn sits in the middle of the Old Faithful complex including the Old Faithful Geyser, visitor center, post office, medical facility, the Inn, the Hamilton store with a quick serve restaurant attached, gas station, Old Faithful Snow Lodge, general store, cafeteria and cabins. It’s truly amazing staying in this one of a kind, historic landmark known as one of the largest log cabin structures in the world.
