Disney World, Florida

Disney World has a variety of different transportation vehicles used throughout the resorts and parks to get you where you want to go. The Skyliner is Disney’s gondola transportation system. The Skyliner has a typical gondola system with seating on both sides, large windows, an open vent system at the top to promote air flow and an open space in the middle.

The Skyliner takes guests to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios and runs between the following resorts-

• Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

• Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

• Disney’s Pop Century Resort

• Disney’s Riviera Resort

A hub is located at each resort and park which allows for easy and quick loading!

The hub between Pop Century and Art of Animation

The main HUB of the Skyliner is located at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. If you are starting from Caribbean simply hop on either the Hollywood or EPCOT gondola and you’re off! If you’re traveling from Pop, Riviera or Art of Animation you’ll get off one set of gondolas at the main Hub and transfer. It’s quick and easy! Usually one familty travels at a time together. The platform does move but Cast Members will happily slow the gondolas down if you need extra time. You can also just push a stroller right in, no need to collapse! If you’re traveling with someone in a wheelchair or scooter you’ll be directed to a separate mobility area where gondolas stand still and give you extra time to board with your family. Once directed simply drive your scooter on, the Cast Member will secure you and you’re off.

The Skyliner is honestly so much fun! We enjoyed riding it as a ride! While there is no air conditioning we have ridden the Skyliner at different times of the year and have never had an issue with being overly hot or cold. Bathrooms are available at the Hub if needed as well.

Some things to remember when riding the Skyliner-hours are posted at each HUB as to when the Skyliner starts and stops. Operating hours are usually an hour before the park opens and an hour after the park closes. You can ride the Skyliner just to go to other resorts not just parks. The Skyliner does slow down and stop at times but this is usually due to someone needing more time to load somewhere on the line and the Skyliner will generally start back up again quickly. If the Skyliner is not running for some reason Disney will dispatch buses to the affected resorts simply ask a Cast Member where to go. If you’re staying at a resort that uses the Skyliner that IS your transportation option for EPCOT and Hollywood Studios so keep that in mind when booking your vacation. Drop of at EPCOT is at the back of the park. We actually LOVE this because it’s less crowded and less walking to World Showcase.
